Curtis Mayfield’s classic ‘Move On Up’ was written, performed, produced and released on his Custom record label on June 25th, 1970. There’s 2x different versions of this track, a lengthy album version clocks in at 8:49 and a shortened radio edit plays out at 2:53. The single never charted in the US but spent 10x weeks in the top 50 of the UK charts, peaking at #12 in 1971.
