No matter which way you move you’ll figure out today’s Singer Eye Exam (SEE).

He began singing in Houston, Tx. in churches and music venues when he was just 10 years old! Had a world-wide hit in the late 60s. At that time he had been drafted and served in the Vietnam war. With the success of their debut (#1 on the US R&B chart) his group had they decided to record their next album immediately without him. He would travel back to the US on leave and record his vocals. As time went on he would continue to write and record new material but never achieve the same success as his first hit single/album.

Sounds include: Southern Soul, R&B, Funk, Soul.

Labels who released singles or albums include: Philadelphia International, Glades Records, Becket Records, Atlantic Records

LAST HINT: Today’s featured singer had two brothers, one who’s in the Karate Black Belt Hall of Fame, the other was a record setting college football player who was the #1 draft pick of an NFL team.
