Change In Speak

Happy birthday to De La Soul’s debut release, 3 ft. High and Rising, released in 1989 on Tommy Boy Records.

To give you an idea of the impact this album’s had on music I’ve cut and pasted (in honor) the below info from the Wikipedia page listing the album’s praise….

A true cutting edge and creative classic! I had this album during the early days of its release, both cassette and cd. It was played countless times on my Sony Walkman, Discman and CD player I ever owned. It’s combination of random samples, vintage samples, beats, lyrics and comedy sketches set it apart from everybody else. Though it never really seemed like they were trying to set themselves apart from the rest. To me it always seemed as if they were being themselves.
