Shine On (Lift Your Spirits Higher) is the opening track off of Lakeside’s 1977 debut release on ABC Records. The track’s composition was created by Beloyd Taylor and Peter Cor (Earth, Wind and Fire, Chaka Khan, Rahmlee, The Emotions, The Salsoul Orchestra).

Their band name, originally Ohio Lakeside Express, then shortened, refers to the South Side of Chicago.
